The Upanishads move beyond reason, belief and instinct. They are a record of direct experience. They are the essence of the mystic experience of inspired seers who explored the transcendental territory with incredible intrepidity and returned to report to us the sounds they 'saw', and the sights they 'heard', in a sage confusion of senses. They are called seers (drastas) and the texts are known as (srutis). Thisbookaims to infuse the reader with the transcendent spirit that pervades the Upanishads, to inspire more than to inform.
