<br/><br/> Nirukta (, , "explanation, etymological interpretation") is one of the six disciplines of Hinduism, treating etymology, particularly of obscure words, especially those occurring in the Vedas. The discipline is traditionally attributed to , an ancient Sanskrit grammarian.
