It is a poetry narrating the life of Kavyakantha Ganapatimuni who was born in Andhra Pradesh in 1878, endowed with a rare poetic talent. He composed many poems and won the most coveted title Kavyakantha and came to be known as Kavyakantha Ganapatimuni. He was an extra ordinary scholar, a perfect yogin, a patriot, an astrologer par excellence and a saint. He composed about a hundred books in metric style besides books in the form of sutras and bhashyas. Kavyakantha Charitam is an epic poem in 21 cantos in about 1000 verses. The description begins with the eulogy of the Andhra State, its culture and people and goes on to write about Ganapatimuni birth, childhood, education, marriage, his desire to do penance, meeting with Ramana Maharshi and accepting him as his spiritual Guru, his last days and so on.
