One of the most important, basic canons of Indian philosophy is the Law of karma. It is also perhaps one of the most misinterpreted of concepts. The Bhagvadgita says, “GAHANA KARMANO GATIH”, meaning it is difficult to understand what Karma really is. Some think it is superstition based, while others maintain it leads to fatalism, passivity, even pessimism and hence to lack of motivation.
