According to vadic literature, there are both fire (oxygen) and mon (hydrogen) in water. Vedas have been used to describe oxygen, fire, friend, vaishvanar fire and matarishva etc. (Hydrogen) Somab, Jal Aap, Salil Varun etc. have been used. Atharvaveda states that the water is known as Matthivashwa Air (Oxygen). According to Rig Veda, Vaishvanar fire exists in the water.
